YO

My Self Reflection

This has been quite the ride. We had a lot of problems especially with the switch to unreal, I had lost the environment that I had created in unity. I had a lot of fun being able to conceptualize the game with the team, and it allowed me to let my imagination to run wild. Me and the team all enjoyed putting our imagination on the screen, even though we suffered throughout the whole thing.

Unit 1-3D Visual design

Most of what happened this unit was me yelling at my computer. I saw the benefits of modular design since I read that it can save you a lot of modeling time, especially when you're creating large-scale worlds or repetitive enclosed spaces. Unwrapping was TERRIBLE but i eventually found my way around it.

OOOOO I lost my mind on this one. Between the modeling, the texturing, the merging and the transformations, it was DIFFICULT. Got an A tho.

Fun time building the houses. Used the modular design principle, just manipulated some of the walls, and used basic shapes. Simple and easy, and its fun enough.

Unit 2-Product management

When you play big games like God Of War or Warframe or Minecraft, you realize that you have NO CHANCE of doing anything like that on your own. When it came to my team, we tried to reach into each other's strengths to perform our roles. We took Britinias amazing artistic talent to do character concepts and the church design, my OUTGOING imagination to design the levels, and Glenn's understanding of the program to do the programming. We’ve barley created a game with 3 people, so teams with hundreds of people are able to do things that are quite incredible.

Unit 3-Pre Production

When planning a game, you have to be sure you figure out the genre, the story board, the level design, and EVERYTHING ELSE. I didnt think that his much would have to go into it. Then you get into sound design, effects, story, and choices.

When making Occulted, we wanted to build a story with meaning. We wanted to take the concepts of ghosts and spirits and analyze the moral implications of exterminating them. We wanted to give the player the choice of either saving the spirits or exterminating them.

Unit 4-Production Techniques

Unreal was quite a mystery at first espeiclaly with all of the work I did in unity. I eventually became pretty accustomed to their UI and liked the blueprint system for creating Programs and altering settings of things like the gun, house, church, and the ghosts
